Former Keeper Returns To League Two

Former Alex keeper Steve Collis has joined Northampton on loan till the end of the season.

The 29 year old spent 18 months at Gresty Road after arriving under Steve Holland as a replacement for Ben Williams. His time at Gresty Road was short lived as he found himself out of the side following Steve Holland's departure.

Dario, as caretaker, soon put Stuart Tomlinson between the sticks whilst Gudjon Thordarson chose to bring in John Ruddy on loan from Everton for the rest of the 2008/2009 season.

Collis was out in the cold by the start of 09/10 and it's no surprise his final appearance was in that nightmarish 5-3 defeat at Accrington Stanley.

After a mutual agreement he left the club in January 2010. He went on to spend six months with Bristol City before joining Peterborough, signed both times by manager Gary Johnson - who also signed him for Yeovil back in 2002.

With Johnson taking over at Northampton last week you could have guessed who his first signing would be.
