City Loan Still On The Radar
Dario says he still hopes to conclude the loan move for a Man City defender despite the signing of old boy Ashley Westwood on Friday.
Westwood arrived on a non-contract deal on Friday and whilst it coincided with Dario's failed attempt to bring in a loan defender Dario says Westwood is not seen as a replacement.
Instead, Dario says that a loan deal for a Man City defender, thought to be highly rated Reece Wabara, is still very much in the pipeline if City's injury troubles dry up.
The move was originally due to be completed last week, with Wabara due to train with the squad on Thursday, until Kolo Toure's drug test results came through and left Man City even more short at the back than usual.
Dario says that he will be keeping tabs on the situation with City coach and Alex legend David Platt in the hope that something can be done sooner or later.
Dario told the official website: 'We still only have the Manchester City player in our sights at the moment and that might yet re-occur.
'We'll see on that. I have spoken to Platty, and he will keep me up-dated on him.'
A defender currently tops Dario wish list as cover becomes ever more scarce in a already fragile back line. 34 year old Ashley Westwood was the only defensive cover named on the bench for Saturday as illness and injury to Matt Tootle and Mat Mitchel-King respectively saw a botched up back line, with Pat Ada moving to right back.
