Peschisolido: I still thought we'd go on and win

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido was left ruing his side's slow start to today's game as the Alex stormed into a 2-0 led inside seven minutes with goals from Clayton Donaldson and Shaun Miller.

The win was all but secured before the half hour mark when Clayton Donaldson converted a penalty following a push on David Artell inside the box.

The penalty, Peschisolido says, was the killer blow as he thought his side could have come back from the 2-0 deficit they had found themselves.

'I thought we started the game really well but then we were 2-0 down after 7 minutes. Call me crazy but I still thought we'd go on and win the game when we were 2-0 down.

'At 2-0 down we looked more likely to score and I thought we were going to go on to win the game but the penalty completely deflated us. '

Donaldson's penalty was put away at the second time of asking after former Alex shot stopper Adam Legzdins was penalised for coming off his line to save Donaldson's first attempt. It was a decision that irked the Burton manager;

'When your luck's out, it is properly out. I couldn't see from where I was but I'd like to have seen if that was at Old Trafford if it would have been called back, I strongly doubt it.'

Burton did eventually pull a goal back with five minutes to go but Donaldson recovered the Alex's 3 goal cushion in stoppage time and bagged his hat-trick in the process.

Whilst 4-1 was probably harsh on Albion, it was a much needed victory for us and a good way to end six games without a victory.
