Alex Test Out Trialists In Liverpool Defeat

Steve Davis fielded a strong side in a reserve friendly at Liverpool today but came away with a harsh 1-0 loss.

Davis fielded a host of first teamers, including Steve Phillips, Danny Blanchett and Joel Grant, whilst Liverpool relied on youth in front of the watching Kenny Dalglish.

Dario and Davis also took the opportunity to give three trialists a run out with one being Faroe Islands international Rogvi Poulsen. Poulsen had a trial at the Alex late last year and the winger seems to have impressed enough to earn a call back.

Poulsen though failed to take his chances in the match whilst Antoni Sarcevic and Joel Grant smashed the woodwork in a game almost dominated by the Alex.

Our luck was out though as Sarcevic failed to dispatch a first half penalty and Liverpool made it costly when young striker Nikola Saric scored the only goal of the game with just five minutes left on the clock.
