Taylor vs Phillips

After conceding 9 goals in his previous 2 games, fans are eager for Rhys Taylor to be replaced by the experienced Steve Phillips.

After initially looking like a confident young keeper, in recent weeks the 20-year-old has started to cause concern. Taylor regained his place for the Northampton match after being sent off two games before for handball. In his place Phillips performed admirably and many Crewe fans were keen for him to keep his place in the side.

However Dario elected to recall Taylor for the trip to Northampton where he went on to concede 6 goals, some of which he would have been expected to save. Following that disappointing defeat, Taylor kept his place for the Rotherham match where he conceded a further 3 goals.

Serious questions are now being asked about the young Chelsea keeper. Many believe he has lost his confidence after a poor run of form and feel Phillips was harshly treated losing his place. If Phillips fails to win back his place it is likely he will leave at the end of the season, leaving Crewe without a senior goalkeeper once more.

I don't think any of the goals at DV were his fault on Saturday, tbh
