No Deadline Day Movement At Gresty Road

Clayton Donaldson remains an Alex player for the rest of the season whilst Dario has resisted the little temptation he had of bringing in any new faces.

Dario had already confirmed earlier today that he had no plans to bring any new players in ahead of the transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday night.

Departure wise, Donaldson was the one first team player feared to be attracting interest but rumours proved to be without foundation and the 27 year old will remain at the club for the remainder of his contract, which expires this summer.

Goalkeeper Steve Phillips is still seeking a move away on loan but that will now be put on hold until the loan window re-opens in seven days time, which will also allow Dario to bring in any re-enforcements right into March.

So whilst we sit here with absolutely nothing new to report, there was plenty of action to be had elsewhere in League Two.

Torquay sold their star striker Elliot Benyon to Swindon Town for a figure around £130,000. Shrewsbury Town added three loan players to their ranks in the form of David Davis from Wolves, Lee Nicholls from Wigan and Paul Downing from West Brom. Accrington pounced for Ian Craney and Joe Jacobson on free transfers.

Stevenage broke a club transfer record to sign goalscorer Craig Reid from Newport. Aldershot's Anthony Straker moved to promotion rivals Wycombe on loan. Hereford added Harry Pell from Bristol Rovers and Rob Purdie from Oldham on loan. Lincoln captured two free transfers in Ali Fuseini and Scott Spencer.

Oxford signed Simon Hackney on loan from Colchester whilst, finally, Matt Green departed Oxford for Cheltenham.

So, there you go. Your full League Two transfer deadline day round up.
