Zola Passes Northampton Medical But...

Calvin Zola has passed a medical following discussions with Northampton Town but no deal has been completed as Zola considers his options.

Cobblers boss Ian Sampson confirmed on Saturday that the 26 year old had undergone and passed a medical last week and was hoping Zola would confirm his intention to sign for Northampton in the coming days.

However, a spanner in the works remains with Burton Albion fielding interest with Dario last week and Zola is expected to at least talk over a move to Paul Peschisolido's side.

Zola is seen as the perfect replacement for Burton's hot shot Shaun Harrad who, after scoring 13 goals this season, looks unlikely to renew his expiring contract and could well depart before the end of the current transfer window.

The Alex are expected to recoup a small five figure fee from whoever Zola chooses to sign for having paid out 200,000 three years ago when he arrived from Tranmere.

At least Alex fans can breath a sigh of relief that Calvin can still pass a medical.

Somehow.
