Crewe Move To Shore Up Defence
The Alex have made an enquiry about a defender that could join the Railwaymen once the January transfer window opens at the weekend.
Dario has already stated that defensive strengthening was top of his January wish list and had previously mentioned that there was one particular player in mind.
Keeping schtum on the identity of the potential recruit, coach and chief scout Neil Baker says that the club are hopeful things can be tied up, telling The Sentinel:
'We have made an inquiry about a defender and are hopeful we can agree something,'
'There is another one in mind too, so we have a few options.'
With a goals against column reading 28, it was one of the worst in the division even though the Alex sit just a couple of points off the play-offs. With goals in free flow at the other end, plugging a leaky defence would surely propel us into contention for a play-off spot.
