'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Moore tempted to go elsewhere?

It was one contract you'd think was a formality but it seems Byron Moore is having his head turned after stalling on an improved contract from the club.

The 22 year old winger-cum-striker's current deal is due to expire in the summer and whilst the likes of Westwood, Tootle, Murphy and Miller have all penned extensions, Moore is taking his time.

The club have offered Moore a new three year deal and having seemingly cemented his place in the side this season, there'd be little sense in him looking elsewhere you'd have thought. That's footballers for you.

Dario says that his agent, former Stoke City player Clive Clarke, believes he could possibly play at a higher level than League Two but Dario is hoping talks can convince Moore to remain at Gresty Road for the time being.

'The ball is in their court and I haven't set a time limit on him because he isn't out of contract until the summer.

'There is no need to sell him in January because we are entitled to compensation anyway. We are hopeful that he will decide that he is better off with us.'

And as a fan, you'd have to wonder if it'd be such a great loss? Moore, whilst not a bad player by any means, certainly hasn't progressed as we'd hoped and I'd have thought his agent would have trouble finding him a move into League One or above.

I expect Moore will sign before long but if he decides to move on then good luck to him.
