Sarcevic Returns Ready To Fight His Place

Summer recruit Antoni Sarcevic has returned from a hugely successful loan spell at Chester and looks set to be given his chance in the Alex's first team.

The 18 year old arrived from Woodley Sports in the summer before being allowed to return to the non-league on loan in order to gain a bit more experience. It took him just seven games, which saw him score twice, before rave reviews from Chester and its supporters forced Dario to recall him back to League Two.

Lee Bell's recent one match suspension for five yellow cards did offer up the ideal opportunity for the Manchester born youngster to make his mark on the Alex's first team, only for the weather and then an injury to disappoint him!

However, Sarcevic is likely to get his chance sooner rather than later and Dario told the official website that he has the ability to be a match winner after excelling in training.

'When he first came here, he was used to doing his own thing on the pitch. He runs around a lot and your not sure if he will be responsible enough to do a job for the team. Nick (Powell) can be a bit like that, but they can also be match winners for you.

'He has needed some time to settle in and has worked hard in training. He is beginning to excel and we have to do more team shape with him, so he knows his responsibilities if we need him for the first-team.'
