'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dario Unhappy With Second Half Performance

He praises the players when they lose and let 4-1 leads slip, but come a 2-1 victory at Morecambe and it's an 'inept performance'. Only Dario.

Dario was not a happy bunny yesterday, he felt the players should have put Morecambe out of sight long before they gave us a nervy couple of minutes at the end with what turned out to be a consolation goal.

I can't say I quite see it Dario's way. It wasn't the greatest second half performance but neither did we collapse, but for the freak goal at the end we held out comfortably, I'd say, considering the amount of time on the ball Morecambe had. I certainly don't think luck came into yesterday's win.

Where everyone agrees however is that we should have been more than two to the good at half time. and should probably have added even more in the second half with a host of chances for Miller and Donaldson. But then it's petty much established by now that our strikers always need three good chances to stick one away.

Speaking to the official website Dario had some pretty strong words... for him...

'We had to work hard for the points because we missed a million of chances again. We should have been out of sight at half-time with the chances we had.

'In the second half I think we produced one of the worst performances of the season when we had the ball. We defended reasonably well but didn't keep the ball and whilst the front two held the ball up well in the first half they didn't do it at all in the second half.

'I warned them at half time about playing their pretty football in silly areas so that seemed to be the cue for dump everything and it was an inept performance when we had the ball in the second half.

'It was different from last season because we crumbled a bit then but they didn't today , we rode our luck a bit and held out.'
