Johnson Joins Bradford

21-year old Eddie Johnson has rejected a two-year deal at Crewe to sign for League One rivals Bradford City. Johnson spent last season on loan at Gresty Road, scoring 5 goals in his 23 appearances for the club.

Bradford were one of a number of clubs interested in Johnson following his departure from Man Utd earlier in the summer. Johnson held 'preliminary discussions' with Barnsley earlier last week, and had previously attracted the interest of Oldham. However, Johnson looked set to make his stay at Gresty Road permanent as his agent declared last week that the striker would sign for Crewe following his return from holiday.

Instead, Johnson leaves Crewe for the second time in his career, having departed the club as a 14-year old to head for Old Trafford. However, Johnson never made the grade at Man Utd, and eventually rejoined Crewe on loan. Johnson recently revealed his desire to settle at a club where he can gain first team football - something he believes is more achievable at Bradford.

Some people move for the money, it's good to seethat others move simply because they want to play football, first team football.
