Miller and Westwood Offered New Deals

Shaun Miller and Ashley Westwood have been added to the list of players offered new contracts by the club this month.

Defender Matt Tootle has already penned a one year extension, keeping him at Gresty Road till 2014, whilst Luke Murphy is set to sign a new two year deal to summer 2013.

Dario is now hoping to make a clean sweep of securing his young academy graduates by getting star midfielder Ashley Westwood and revitalised striker Shaun Miller on longer deals.

Miller is currently in the final year of his current deal but, with eight league goals to his name in just 12 starts this season, the 23 year old has arguably been our best striker in recent months. He's set to put pen to paper on a new two year contract that will keep him at the club till 2013.

Westy meanwhile is expected to sign an extra year onto his currently deal, meaning he'll be contracted to the club till 2014. With Westwood continuing to be linked strongly to the likes of Nottingham Forest the news of a contract extension will come as a major boost to club and fans.

Dario has also admitted that Murphy, Westwood and Miller will make themselves the club's top earners from next season if they all sign their new deals. Though the likes of Grant, Donaldson and Zola will already be earning a fair whack, all three are expected to be offered severely reduced terms that could well see them leave the club.

Meanwhile, Dario has confirmed that one academy graduate in Danny Shelley is not going to be offered a new deal - at least not yet. Shelley's also in his final year of his current deal but Dario says that whilst he expects to keep Shelley beyond this season, he doesn't quite know to offer him as Shelley hasn't quite made an impact on the first team.
