Port Vale's village idiot Micky Adams took time after the match to celebrate his side's first win in five take another pop at Dario Gradi.

Vale won 2-1 today after 'earning' a debatable second half penalty when Gary Roberts was apparently felled in the box by Rhys Taylor. It stifled a Crewe side who were dominant in possession for most of the first half.

After last season's childish exchange that saw Adams tell Dario to 'get a life' for daring to have an opinion on a match winning penalty, the Leicester City/Brighton/Coventry failure had more words for Dario.

Post match, Micky Adams was eager to get a couple of cheap shots at Dario. Not at all sounding bitter seven months on....

'It was a clear penalty. Dario said last year's was a clear penalty Absolute stonewall penalty for us this year. So it evens itself out, doesn't it Dario?

'I don't say that with any tongue in cheek. If that was a stonewall penalty last season then this season's was an absolute banker penalty.'


As ever, Dario gave his considered view on the match, not resorting to digs at single Vale personnel. Speaking to crewealex.net, Dario said we were dealt a hand of fate with the dodgy penalty but that's football.

"It is funny what fate can do. Last season we were awarded a controversial penalty that proved to be correct and this year they were given a controversial penalty that still might prove to be correct again.

The popular view from my players and at least one Port Vale player is that it wasn't a penalty. I won't be sure until I see it again.

'That is the way it goes and after a good unbeaten run we have to pick ourselves up and start again.'


So, Micky, how many times do we have to tell you? Grow up and act like the professional football manager you are trying to be.
