Crewe Given JPT Team of the Round

The Johnstone's Paint Trophy have named the Railwaymen as the (northern) team of the second round following our 4-2 win at Macclesfield Town.

It was a comfortable win to progress to the third round of the competition, where we face Carlisle in a couple of weeks. Lee Bell, Dave Artell and Joel Grant all netted after Colin Daniel had given us an early lead with an own goal. We kept things interesting with Patrick Ada scoring two bizarre own goals.

Wycombe Wanderers were named the Southern team of the round after they beat League One Colchester 2-0.

Johnstone`s Paint Trophy`s sponsorship manager Teresa Hardwick said: "The team of the round awards were particularly tough to judge this time around but both clubs wowed us with their performances and were fully deserving of their accolades."

Meanwhile, you can vote for Joel Grant's strike against Macc as the 'Ultimate Finish' of the round. He is in a shortlist of ten with the winner receiving the 'Ultimate Finisher Award', all voters also go into a draw for a iPod Nano.

You can find details on how to vote on the Johnstone's Paint Trophy website.
