Fylde Confirmed As Youth Cup Opponents

Crewe Alex U-18s will face AFC Fylde in the FA Youth Cup 1st round at Gresty Road. Tghe non league youngsters impressively beat their Wakefield counterparts 4-1 in the third qualifying round last night.

Fylde U-18s are through to the First Round having also beaten Altrincham, Curzon Ashton and Bootle in the previous three rounds, holding on to their 100% record so far this season.

The Alex made the third round of the competition last season. After good wins against Bradford and Leeds, the Academy side showed their quality as they took a strong Arsenal side all the way to penalties in the third round. The Railwaymen were unlucky not win the tie in the first 90 minutes having led twice, before leading for a 3rd time in extra time in the 3-3 draw!

The exact date and ticket details have not yet been confirmed for this year's 1st round, though the tie is due to take place the week commencing 25th October.
