Clayton Withdrawn From England Squad

Clayton Withdrawn From England Squad

Max Clayton will not be travelling with the England U-17 squad next month as he requires a small operation to repair a small ligament tear in his knee.

The 16 year old was due to travel with team mates Nick Powell and Ben Garratt as the England U-17s got their European Championship qualifying underway.

The young England side are due to face Georgia, Poland and Sweden over the course of a week between the 18th and 23rd of October. The call ups mean that forward Nick Powell will miss the Alex's trip to Southend and the home tie with Aldershot.

Clayton meanwhile will be looking to return to full fitness as soon as possible having joined first team training this season.
