Zola Not In Plans

Dario seems to have ruled Calvin Zola out of the starting line up any time soon despite the lack of a clinical finisher up front.

Zola has been out of the team for the last two weeks, only getting a brief stoppage time appearance against Oxford. After netting 18 times last season the big Congolese striker has only the one goal to his name this term.

With Clayton Donaldson and Shaun Miller struggling to put teams to bed in recent games, the lack of a real goal getter is starting to get a tad worrisome. Dario has already revealed that Zola isn't even getting goals in training these days and today admitted to the official website that he isn't considering him for a return to the first 11 at the moment.

'Calvin isn't in my plans to start at the moment. I am reasonably happy with the ones we have in the team at the moment.

'They know they have to create and score goals if they want to stay in, but then Zola hasn't scored too many either.

'The places up front are still very much up for grabs.'

So the question is, do we see the likes of AJ Leitch-Smith or even Nick Powell now get a chance?

I don't think we're close to finding a 20 goal a season striker and it could become quite crucial for a play-off push. Shaun Miller is certainly getting there, though some of his play in the final third still begs questions, whilst Clayton Donaldson cannot seem to buy a goal right now.

Leaving: Ajay and Powell... surely worth throwing one of the two in for a couple of games. Who'd be up front if it was up to you tomorrow? See if Dario listens....
