Academy Side Draw 3-3 With WBA

Crewe's youngsters came back from 3-1 down to claim a hard fought 3-3 draw against West Brom on Saturday morning.

West Brom made the most of dominant possession in the first half with Saido Berahino netting early on. The Alex managed to pull it back in the 22nd minute when Antoni Sarcevic, standing in for the injured Max Clayton, was felled in the box winning a penalty. Sean Cooke stepped up confidently to tuck it away.

Good goalkeeping from England U-17 keeper Ben Garratt kept the scores level going into half time but was helpless when the Baggies stormed into a 3-1 lead with two goals on the hour mark. Kemar Roofe scored West Brom's second on 60 minutes whilst Paris Bateman's block on the six minutes later went down as an unfortunate own goal.

Just as the game looked out of reach, the Alex youngsters pulled off a fantastic come back with two goals in three minutes. Harry Clayton and Antoni Sarcevic coming up trumps with the young Railwaymen nearly netting a winner before full time.

FT: Crewe Alexandra U-18s 3-3 West Brom U-18s
