'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Every time we went near them they went over

Oxford boss Chris Wilder was more than sympathetic to today's 'referee', instead having a few harsh words about the oh so mighty Railwaymen. Wilder felt his side played fair and it's the attitude of Alex fans and players that got his side several bookings and a red card.

Speaking to the official Oxford website, he said:

We moved them about great but we'd have liked to have been more attacking. I don't think they caused us any problems in the first half; we conceded a poor goal from our point of view.

'We got a deserved equaliser. They can say they got a couple of decent chances but I don't know why they're moaning about the disallowed goal, it was the most blatant offside goal that I have ever seen.

'I think Constable's been really unlucky to get two yellows. That's been inflamed by the sort of attitude here that we can't touch them. I don't know if anyone thought we'd just turn up and let young footballers play and sit 10 yards off of them.

'I felt really sorry for our players. Every time we went near their players they just went over and I thought the referee had a really difficult afternoon and I'll be telling him.'

Hmm. I think it's best I refrain from commenting on this one right now.
