Nantwich Seek Connerton Loan

Nantwich Town have enquired about taking Alex striker Jordan Connerton on loan.

Now managed by former Alex midfielder Kevin Street alongside former Macclesfield player Darren Tinson, the Dabbers are struggling at the foot of the Evo-Stik Premier League with the worst strike record in the league.

Street told The Crewe Chronicle that Nantwich are desperate to take the former Lancaster forward to The Weaver Stadium.

"He is the kind of natural goal-scorer we are desperate to have here and I have spoken to the Alex. The initial talks were positive. Obviously we have a very good relationship with Crewe and fully understand that they will do what is best for Jordan.

'If they do think the experience would benefit Jordan we`d be delighted to have him."

Connerton joined the Alex in the summer from Lancaster Town on a three year deal having scored over 35 goals for the non-league outfit last season.

He's spent the majority of this season on the bench for the first team though Dario last week admitted t that the 20 year old isn't quite ready to be thrown into action yet.
