EJ to Stay
Eddie Johnson appears set to sign Crewe's offer of a two-year deal after his agent indicated that the forward would be signing. Johnson's future was in doubt after he went on holiday without indicating whether he'd sign or not. Interest from other clubs, such as Oldham, only served to increase any doubts over Johnson's stay at Gresty Road, though it appears that Oldham's change of manager may have helped Crewe's cause.
Johnson netted 4 times in 23 appearances for Crewe last season - a tally he will be looking to improve on in League One as he looks to kick-start his career. Meanwhile, Dario Gradi has described offering Gareth Taylor a two-year deal as 'impossible', due to problems with some of his joints and injury doubts.
