Powell To Start Against Bury?

Powell To Start Against Bury?

Dario has challenged youngster Nick Powell to force his way into the starting line up against Bury this week.

After a fantastic appearance off the bench against Stevenage on Saturday it was certain that the 16 year old would be in Dario's thoughts when it came to this week's team selection.

So far this season Powell has notched up just 30 minutes of first team football from two substitute appearances, but Dario recently admitted that the young midfielder 'needs to be playing' having made the step up to the first team at such a young age.

Having caused a mini-stir on Saturday, which saw articles such as this on the BBC website, it's going to be hard for Dario to leave the 16 year old waiting much long.

He told the official website that Powell will be in his thoughts for the weekend's home clash with Bury but says that he will having to prove it in training.

If you read between the lines, however, I think it's a done deal and we will be seeing Powell make his home debut come the weekend.

Now, prepare yourself for silly season because there's going to be a hell of a lot written about him by some not-in-the-know gossip columnists.
