'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wednesday Snippets

* Dario has hinted here that Nick Powell could be in the side sooner rather than later. The 16 year old has been a regular on the bench this season but has made just one five minute appearance, when he came on against Cheltenham.

After his exploits for England Under 17s last week, where he scored two pretty decent goals in three 'Friendly Tournament' games, Dario says that Powell now needs to be playing games - either with the first team, reserves or academy side.

You can take a wild guess what that means - I doubt Powell will be wasting his time in the reserves!

* There'll be no trip to Wembley in May for the Railwaymen - not even if we make the play-off final. The big wigs at the FA have only gone and double booked the national stadium, with the Champions League Final now taking place there the weekend of the play-offs.

With UEFA telling the FA to wipe dates two weeks prior to the game 'in order to prepare' it's even left the FA Cup Final in doubt, which could now take place during the season or in June.

The play-off finals meanwhile will have to move elsewhere, well, apart from the Championship one which will remain at Wembley scheduled for the Monday following the European Cup Final.

Leagues One and Two will have to make do playing their biggest games of the season at the less lush surroundings of Villa Park, Old Trafford or the Emirates.
