'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Post-Match Round Up

Shaun Miller will be fit for the start of the season despite going off during last night's friendly, and Dario says he was pleased with Nick Powell's involvement as a sub.

Miller was replaced by Byron Moore ten minutes from time after taking a knock during last night's 1-0 win over Blackpool. The 22 year old however isn't expected to be out for long, putting the injury down to cramp.

He will hope to be in contention for the Alex's penultimate pre-season friendly at home to Wrexham on Saturday afternoon. With Dario set to name his first XI once more, Miller is looking likely to get the nod - fitness permitting.

Meanwhile, Dario said that Nick Powell will have learnt a lot from his 25 minute cameo last night. It was the 16 year old's first team baptism after being a surprise name on the team sheet yesterday afternoon.

Despite being welcomed onto the pitch by a hard challenge from the Blackpool defence, Powell went on to impress with a neat touch and a good run towards the end of the game. However, Dario told the official website crewealex.net that Powell may not yet be ready for the vigours of weekly games

'Nick will have learnt a lot from the experience because it is something he is not used too.

'He is a very talented boy but it was all about the experience for him. He is not really ready yet but he can see what is expected.'
