Shaun Miller scored the only goal of the game as Crewe continued their winning streak in tonight's friendly at Gresty Road.
We have now won all six pre-season games for the summer having previously beaten West Brom, Lancaster, Nantwich, Kidsgrove and Quorn in friendly games this month.
Tonight, Shaun Miller's 33rd minute tap in from a Clayton Donaldson header was enough to see off the 'challenge' of Premier League new boys Blackpool and it could possibly have been more but for some good goalkeeping from the Seasiders keeper.
Both Dario and Blackpool boss Ian Holloway named strong sides for the match. Dario opted for what looks like could be his starting 11 for the new season whilst Holloway included the likes of former Alex winger David Vaughan, defender Alex Baptiste and star man Charlie Adam in his travelling squad.
There was still room however for the latest kid from the Alex academy, Nick Powell. The highly rated 16 year old attacker was given his first run out in the first team and with a few neat touches and runs will done himself no harm in his push for a first team spot this season.
Next up in the pre-season schedule is the visit of old foes Wrexham to Gresty Road on Saturday (kick off 3pm) then a trip to Kidderminster on Monday evening (KO 7:45pm) but focus is steadily turning to the big one a week on Saturday - Hereford at home for the first game of the 2010-2011 season!
COME ON YOU REDS!!!
