Fans Expect Goals From Donaldson

Our latest poll says that fans think Clayton Donaldson will top score for the Alex in the new season.

With 38% of the vote, Donaldson edged Calvin Zola by 1% to get the faith of the fans.

Both are fair shouts for the honour - perhaps even fair shouts for the League Two honour altogether?

Zola surprised most last season with 18 goals and his all round match winning displays whilst Donaldson showed glimpses of his potential with 13 goals despite spending two months out with a broken leg.

If the pair of them can stay fit for the duration then there is absolutely no reason why we can't have one of the most lethal strike partnerships on our books. Again.

As for how the other 25% of the votes were shared. Surprisingly (or not?) newcomer Jordan Connerton was favoured over Shaun Miller with 9% of the vote to Miller's 7%. Academy graduate Ajay Leitch-Smith tied with Miller. Byron Moore, who's looking likely to play out on the wing for the new season, received just 2%.

A new poll is now live, asking your thoughts on the new home shirt.
