Taylor Looking To The Future

New signing Rhys Taylor seems eager to get going and is already looking to extend his loan deal beyond it's initial two months.

The 20 year old keeper arrived from Chelsea this summer to cover for Steve Phillips, who is currently recovering from an operation on a long standing shoulder operation, and has already been talking about holding the number one spot till the end of the season.

Starting between the sticks come August 7th it'll be Taylor's first real taste of first team action having never made an appearance for Chelsea or former loan club QPR and he's looking to grab the opportunity with both hands.

Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke and CreweAlex.net, Taylor said:

'I want to get some experience and some league games. I've been playing in the reserves at Chelsea since I was fifteen so I've been doing that for a while and I think it`s time to step up.

'I have waited five years for a chance to play in a first team and I'm looking forward to my time here. I cannot wait for the first game to come along and show what I can do.

'I am here for two months to begin with but if the club would like me to stay and challenge Steve (Phillips) for the number one spot then I would. '
