Burton Up Offer To Keep Webster

Burton Albion have upped their offer to their long serving defender Aaron Webster after the Alex offered the left back a two year deal on Monday.

Albion manager Paul Peschisolido seems a little worried about Dario's interest in his left back this week. Despite originally not even offering Webster a contract this summer, Peschisolido has now 'tweaked' Albion's offer to the 29 year old.

Peschisolido says that he opes for an answer soon having been impressed with Webster's commitment this pre-season.

"We have sat down and maybe tweaked the contract details a little bit and I am hoping that he comes back and says 'yes` to me.

"He has got fantastic ability and what has held him back has been himself.

"He has gone away and taken what I have said on board, he has worked his socks off all summer long and come back extremely fit.'

It's now up to Webster to decide between Burton and Crewe, having held talks with Dario at Reaseheath training ground on Monday.

It's likely Webster would favour to stay at Burton having spent his entire 12 year career there but whether we have done enough to gazzump Albion... who knows?

Ability wise, Webster would without doubt be a fantastic signing but I can't see us putting all our eggs in one basket just yet. With Chris Stokes (former Bolton and loanee) and Danny Blanchett (former Peterborough) still on trial, the left back spot is still wide open.
