Trialist To Be Given Another Shot

Trialist defender Danny Blanchett looks set to get another game when the Alex travel to Lancaster City on Friday evening.

The former Peterborough left back has been on trial at Reaseheath for the last couple of weeks as Dario attempts to fill the vacant left back spot.

Having played 90 minutes in the 3-2 win over Kidsgrove last night, the 23 year old has now been promised further action on Friday night at Lancaster by assistant manager Steve Davis.

Blanchett is one of two left backs on trial at the Alex with former loanee and Bolton defender Chris Stokes also looking to earn a deal, and either could be second in line come the start of the season to new transfer target Aaron Webster.

Webster is thought to have held talks with the club this week and if signed would likely go straight into Dario's starting line up come August 7th.
