Crewe Chase Brewers Webster?

Burton Albion left back Aaron Webster is thought to be in talks over a move to Gresty Road.

The 29 year old had talks with the club this week and could fill the vacant left back spot by the end of the week.

Currently out of contract at Burton, Webster has spent his whole career at the Pirelli Stadium. Making his debut in 1998, Webster has gone on to make over 450 appearances for the Brewers, scoring over 80 goals. Versatile, Webster is said to be able to play on the left wing as well as the ocassional game up front.

Dario meanwhile confirmed today that he has held talks with a player but refused to confirm it was Webster. Speaking to CreweAlex.net Dario said that he hopes to have an answer from the player within a couple of days.

Dario said: 'We have identified a full-back and have spoken to him. He came up without an agent so that was a positive step in the right direction.

'We would hope to do something in the next couple of days.

'We would ideally like someone with experience but that doesn't necessary mean it is the end for the trialists. They both did well last night.'

The left back spot has of course been a troublesome area since Billy Jones was blocked from the team last October by Dario. The position has largely been covered by right-back Matt Tootle but with John Brayford leaving for Derby and Billy Jones returning to Exeter this summer, Dario is looking to move Tootle back to right-back and get new blood in for the left back role.
