Grant Puts Pen to Paper

Tony Grant has put pen to paper on his new one-year deal. Dario Gradi had previously revealed that the midfielder had verbally agreed to sign, though having seen other players opt to sign elsewhere, the news comes as a relief for Crewe, especially following Kenny Lunt's departure to Sheffield Wednesday.

The 31-year old will provide an experienced head in the Crewe midfield next season, as he is likely to be surrounded by youngsters. Along with Grant, Crewe's contracted midfielders for next season are David Vaughan, Gary Roberts, Billy Jones, Lee Bell, Michael O'Connor, Ben Rix and Ryan Lowe.

Meanwhile, Ben Williams has also put pen to paper on his two-year deal, having also previously verbally agreed the contract.

Pretty good buy if he can "over cover aswell". Not an easy thing to do at any level. ;)
