Reserves Enjoy Burton Win

A young Crewe Alex fringe side enjoyed a 4-1 victory over their Burton Albion counter parts yesterday.

The squad was largely made up from young academy players who are looking for new contracts this summer, including striker Ajay Leitch-Smith. Danny Shelley, Chris Clements and Harry Davis were among the more 'experienced' of the team.

It was also a chance for Dario to run the rule over a few trialists. Former Cardiff City defender Stephen Last, 18, was among them with Warrington winger Jimmy McCarthy, 25, scoring a brace.

The other Alex goals came from Leitch-Smith and Clements in the first half.

Team: Danny Platt, Danny Shelley, Cheyenne Dunkley, Harry Davis, trialist x 3, Kelvin Mellor, Chris Clements, AJ Leitch-Smith, Jason Oswell (trialist)
