'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It wasn't rubbish at Bury!

It's easy to try and convince the Alex faithful that, despite losing 3-0, we didn't play that bad on Tuesday night at Bury. Unfortunately for the 141 Alex fans who made the trip.... it was that bad.

Dario Gradi wasn't too happy that the small Crewe following aired their disgust as the Alex fell to a fourth straight defeat. Chants of 'what a load of rubbish' were rebuffed by the Alex manager who reckons we played decent football.

'The supporters were chanting 'what a load of rubbish', but that isn't gong to help us,' said Dario

'I thought we played some decent football and it certainly wasn't rubbish.

'They seem to have forgotten about the football changing when I came in. But, of course, I want to win as well - I haven't solved that.'

It's a shame that next to no-one agrees with Dario. it was a largely disjointed performance, void of ideas and an easy victory for a very out of form Bury side.

It's not the first time we've heard the 'fans booing doesn't help' excuse this week either, with striker Calvin Zola voicing his concerns also.

The idea that professional footballers need fans 'help' and expect any other reaction after four straight, woeful defeats is quite absurd.

Unfortunately it's the sort of poor excuses and digs at fans we've come to expect in recent weeks. Dario, meanwhile, shoulders little to no blame for recent form.
