Keeper Gavin a Chance

35-year old Gavin Ward is believed to be the experienced goalkeeper interesting Crewe. Dario recently revealed that although Ben Williams will be Crewe's number one next season, he is keen to bring in a keeper who could perform coaching duties, as well as challenge for a first team place. Dario had stated that he expected to bring a keeper in on a season long loan, but with Ward now a free agent after his release from Preston, the experienced goalkeeper may choose to pen a one year deal with Crewe.

6'3 Ward has a wealth of experience, having been on the books of 13 clubs, including Stoke, Bolton and Aston Villa. In total, clubs have spent £475,000 on the keeper.
