Goalkeeper Steve Phillips could make his stay at Gresty Road long term after he hints he's ready to stay.
The experienced shot stopper has been Crewe's number one loan keeper since November when he signed on loan from parent club Bristol Rovers.
It was initially expected that Phillips would make the move permanent in the January transfer window but awkwardness from Rovers over Phillips' remaining contract at the Memorial meant Crewe had to settle for a loan extension.
Phillips now says he'd love to complete his permanent move to Gresty Road in the summer, but must first prove an old shoulder injury won't scupper the deal.
The 31 year old is set to under go a shoulder operation in the summer before any deal is struck and even then will most likely miss the start of the new campaign.
Phillips though says the chance to stay on at Crewe will be welcomed by himself. Speaking to The Sentinel and The Crewe Chronicle:
"The club is run in the right way and looks after itself financially which is of the utmost importance to the club`s future. That should coincide with winning every game, which we try to do.
'It's a great set-up here and I'm involved in the coaching down at the Soccer Centre. Let's see what happens in the summer first.
