Crewe Sign Bolton Defender Stokes

Crewe have moved to sign young Bolton Wanderers left-back Chris Stokes on an emergency loan.

With regular left back Matt Tootle suffering from a dead leg, second in line Ashley Westwood out with an ear infection, back up Carl Martin suspended and former captain Billy Jones completely frozen out of things, Dario has taken quick action to fill the left back spot for tomorrow's trip to Torquay United.

19 year old Stokes, who has previously been on the books of Bristol Rovers, has signed for an initial one month period but Dario says having tracked Stokes for a while it's a chance for Stokes to impress.

Speaking to CreweAlex.net, Dario said: 'He is a player we have been keeping an eye on for a while now and with Matt (Tootle) struggling, Westy out with an ear infection and Carl (Martin) suspended it was the perfect time to bring him in.

'I've told him that he will start the game on Saturday and then it is up to him to keep his place.'
