Tootle To Be Rested For Burton Game

Young defender Matt Tootle is to be rested for tomorrow evening's game at Burton Albion after complaining of a sore hip.

The 19 year old academy graduate has struggled in the left back spot in recent weeks with an unfortunate own goal against league leaders Rochdale on Saturday typifying his luck of late.

Dario had already suggested this week the possibility of Toots getting a rest but the youngster's hip complaint may have forced the issue.

Dario now has to decide who can fill in at the left back spot when we travel to in-form Burton Albion tomorrow evening. Former captain and natural replacement Billy Jones is struggling with a knee injury leaving Ashley Westwood - who is currently occupying a midfield spot - and Carl Martin battling it out for the place.

Speaking to the official site, Dario said: 'Matt's body is indicating that he needs a rest and I believe that is the best thing for him. He could do with a rest now and that will mean a reshuffle.

'I'd like to replace him, but Billy Jones isn't fit and I don't want to play Ashley at left-back, because he has been doing very well in midfield.

'Westy and Carl Martin are both contenders for the position and we will see how it shapes out in training today.'
