Steve Collis Released By Crewe

Fringe 'keeper Steve Collis has been released by the club after a unhappy 18 months at Gresty Road.

The Sentinel are reporting that the former Southend goalkeeper has had his contract settled with the club and is now free to look for a new club in the January transfer window.

The 28 year old has made just three appearances since Holland's sacking in November 2008, his last coming in this season's forgettable match at Accrington Stanley.

Collis' departure could now pave the way for loan keeper Steve Phillips to extend his loan deal with the club after rejecting a permanent deal earlier in the week.
