Dario Still Angry At Ref For Tootle Booking

Dario Still Angry At Ref For Tootle Booking

Dario is on the warpath this week, still seething having seen youngster Matt Tootle booked for diving - something Dario believes to be completely rubbish.

The academy graduate was brought down by the Barnet keeper inside the area during Saturday's 2-1 win but after calls for a Crewe penalty it was Tootle who went into the referee's book for apparently diving.

Having come through the Alex's academy from an early age Dario has taken it rather personally that the referee saw Tootle as a cheat. Speaking to crewealex.net Dario said that booking his players for cheating is pretty much calling the legendary manager a cheat himself.

'I am annoyed with the decision to book Matt because he is one of our young players, who has played only a handful of games. To label him a cheat is to label me a cheat because I have brought him up as a coach and my players don't dive.

'It is not like I have inherited Matt at 30 and he has been at numerous clubs. He is one of mine and that makes the decision even more disappointing.'

Dario added that he is taking the matter further with a letter and video evidence to the relevant people.

It seems unlikely we will see the yellow rescinded but if anything it sends a message to future referees.... don't call Dario's players cheats!
