Loan keeper Steve Phillips says he's not interesting in extending his loan spell and wants a permanent deal, whether it's at Crewe or elsewhere.
Phillips arrived on loan at the beginning of November after his parent club Bristol Rovers told him he would was not in their plans this season. After a somewhat shaky start at York and in the home defeat to Morecambe Phillips has seemingly won Alex fans over with his steady performances and his double penalty save at Chesterfield.
With his loan spell at Gresty Road up in a few weeks Phillips future comes into question once again, as does the goalkeeping position at The Alex. Phillips has already been told he's free to leave the Bristol club whilst Dario has confirmed he's interested in signing the 31 year old on a permanent deal; but as yet nothing has been taken any further.
Speaking to CreweAlex.net Phillips said that any future loan spells were out of the question and for the sake of his family wants some more concrete arrangement, but he's yet to speak to Dario.
'I haven't spoken to Dario about the future. Of course, I would like to know where I stand with Crewe because I would like to sort out my situation as quickly as possible for the benefit of my family.
'I won't consider a loan extension that is for sure. I want something permanent. I am sure if Dario is interested in doing something then I will sit down with him in due course and listen to what he has to say.
'There are a few clubs interested. I don't mind where I play. I would go abroad if necessary or to Scotland. No problem.'
It's likely the club will offer Phillips some sort of deal but with other clubs rumoured to be keeping a close eye on things Crewe's chances of signing up Phillips seem to look slimmer by the day.
Phillips though believes the future at Crewe is bright and thinks ambitions of the play-offs are not too far fetched...
'This Crewe team can go places. The play-offs are a real reality. I think we have the best strike force in the division and we just have to believe in ourselves a bit more to make it happen.'
