Dario: Ref Is Calling Me A Cheat

Despite yesterday's good win at Barnet Dario is looking for his side to finish off sides earlier, and blasts the referee for booking Matt Tootle for supposedly diving.

Joel Grant and Clayton Donaldson goals made it five unbeaten for Crewe in yesterdays win at Barnet but more squandered chances meant the Alex had to work hard for the victory.

Speaking post match manager Dario Gradi told the official website that the game should have been over by half time if the likes of Grant and Donaldson hadn't missed earlier chances.

'I thought we deserved to win the game and it could have been over by half-time but we didn't take our chances. We know that is going to be the case and when you go down hill first half here, you can think that your chance has gone a bit.

'We didn't play as well in the second half but were still dangerous. We were not keeping the ball as well in the second half and kept lobbing it forward but our defending was better. I think Mat went to ground once when they scored their goal and Danny looked comfortable throughout.'

Dario meanwhile blasted the referee for booking youngster Matt Tootle following a penalty call. After the 19 year old academy graduate was brought down inside the box by the Bees keeper referee Keith Hill not only waved the calls away but booked Tootle for supposedly trying to con him.

It's let Dario less than happy with the man from Milan annoyed at how the referees decision reflects onto him. Speaking to the official website;

'I was annoyed with the decision not to award Tootle a penalty because the referee is calling him a cheat for diving and if he does that then he is calling me a cheat.

'Matt said he was touched and when the goalkeeper is out of his goal like that, it isn't up to Matt to try and hurdle him and stay on his feet if he is impeded. I thought it was a penalty and it is something I will follow up. '
