Phillips Agent Touts His Man

The permanent signing of goalkeeper Steve Phillips may have got a little more difficult with the 31 year old's agent now on the scene.

Phillips is currently on a loan deal from Bristol Rovers and despite a shaky start the Somerset born 'keeper has put in some match winning performances - namely his double penalty save in the 2-3 win over Chesterfield last week.

It's well known that Bristol Rovers are willing to let Phillips leave once the transfer window opens in a few weeks time but it seems like a deal with Crewe is way off, despite his loan spell finishing at the beginning of next month.

When Phillips arrived it was reported that it was 'with a view of permanent deal' but as time goes on the less confident Dario sounds of making Phillips a full-time Alex player.

Now, Phillips's agent has got in on the act - claiming that teams from the SPL are even interested in his client.

Agent Clive Hart told Skysports.com that Phillips is free to leave Bristol Rovers and currently open to offers.

'Bristol Rovers are willing to let Steve leave on a free transfer and we will see what offers come in for him.

'Crewe have already expressed an interest in keeping Steve, while Shrewsbury are keeping tabs on him after a successful loan spell there and a couple of SPL clubs are tracking him.

'Steve is open to all offers.'

Anyone else get the feeling that we'll be looking at yet another new keeper come January?
