Looking Ahead To Chesterfield

Crewe take on Chesterfield in League Two tonight with a slightly earlier kick off time of 7:30pm.

The trip to Saltergate will not be easy, the Spireites are on the back of a 9 match unbeaten run at the ground they will be departing this coming summer. Only Morecambe have come away from Chesterfield this season with points - or should that be a point - with Chesterfield winning the other 8 league encounters.

Bournemouth and Carlisle have proven they aren't unbeatable however. FA Cup and Paint Trophy wins respectively came back at the start of November. It's unsurprising that Chesterfield currently sit fifth in the league, a win tonight could take them up to fourth or even third.

Let's not fear them. We're on the back of a good home win ourselves, a 2-1 victory over Burton Albion could have been much more convincing had we pushed on in the second half and not conceded in the last seconds of the game.

It eased any niggling relegation thoughts for the time being and a win tonight could even put us just five points off the play-off places in 14th - maybe 13th - and a healthy 11 points ahead of the relegation zone.

It's unlikely we'll see any changes to the side this evening. Worley, Schumacher and Bailey could be giving Dario some food for thought but a winning side cannot be messed about with.

If you're not travelling to tonight's game why not stick with Vital Crewe on the Message Board throughout the 90 minutes?
