Calvin Misses Out On POTM

Zola's double was not to be after being pipped at the post by Notts County keeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Calvin, who already has October's PFA Player of the Month award under his belt, was also nominated for the League's version of the award. However competition was fierce with Notts County keeper Kasper Schmeichel, Rochdale striker Chris Dagnall and Drew Talbot of Rochdale also in the running.

Unfortunately Congolese only made it to second place, being beaten by Schmeichel.

Despite Zola's impressive record of five goals in four matches for October it was Schmeichel's record of conceding just four goals in four October matches that won it. Alex fans will of course remember his performance at Meadow Lane in which he pulled of a couple of fine saves, including denying Schumacher from the penalty spot.
