Trio In Team Of The Week

Trio In Team Of The Week

The three Alex goal scorers from the weekend have been selected for the Football League League Two Team of the Week.

The team is chosen in association with the Press Association.

Goalscorers Calvin Zola, Steve Schumacher and Danny Shelley were all chosen for this weeks team.

Zola notched up two goal whilst Schuey and Shelley both contributed in the 4-0 thrashing of Cheltenham on Saturday. Shelley scored his first goal in professional football with a calm finish in the second half. Schumacher meanwhile notched up his third of the month, firing home a scrappy ball in the penalty area.

Zola was an obvious choice, scoring twice to take his season tally to 12. The October player of the month can do no wrong at the moment.

Also named in the side is former Crewe winger Colin Daniel. Daniel was released by Gudjon Thordarson in the summer but has impressed since joining Macclesfield Town this season, scoring his first goal of the season over the weekend.

The team in full:

Poke (Torquay), Lowe (Hereford), Jones (Hereford), Lee (Notts County), Straker (Aldershot), Shelley (Crewe), Schumacher (Crewe), Hargreaves (Torquay), Daniel (Macclesfield), Zola (Crewe), O'Grady (Rochdale).
