Phillips Seals Loan Move
Crewe have signed Bristol Rovers keeper Steve Phillips on a two month loan deal with a view of making the move permanent in the January transfer window.
Phillips arrives fresh from an impressive two month loan spell at Shrewsbury. The 31 year old though has spent most of his career in Bristol, playing over 350 games between Bristol City and Bristol Rovers.
Phillips's arrival marks the end of a long-time search for a new number one. After it became clear that Steve Collis wasn't up to scratch the management at Gresty Road have been through a host of keepers with loanees John Ruddy, David Button and Adam Bogdan all making appearances.
Rookie Adam Legzdins however will feel slightly aggrieved at Phillips's arrival after the former Brummie keeper put in a fine performance in the weekend's 4-0 win at Cheltenham. The 22 year old has done little wrong when called up on this season but it seems Dario just isn't a fan.
It's likely Phillips will now go straight into the side, although it's still unclear if Bristol Rovers have given The Alex permission to play Phillips in this weekend's FA Cup tie at York City.
