Harry Worley Signs On Loan

Crewe make their second loan signing from Leicester City, with defender Harry Worley coming in on a deal until the new year.

Twenty year old Worley is a centre-half who Leicester signed from Chelsea in 2008 after a successful trial and loan spell with the club.

He will meet his new Alex team mates today and travel with the sqaud for tomorrow's game at Grimsby, whether he gets chance to be involved so soon remains to be seen.

A familiar face to Worley will be Leicester team mate Aman Verma who made his debut for Crewe as a substitute in midweek against Blackpool, after signing a 3 month loan deal earlier in the week.

Despite spending 3 years with Chelsea, Worley is no stranger to the North-West having been born in Lymm and playing for Stockport until 2005 before he was snapped up by the London giants for £150,000.

Despite only 2 appearences for Leicester, Harry, who stands at an imposing 6'3', has other Football League experience after loan spells with Doncaster, Carlisle and last season Luton Town.

Manager Gudjon Thordarson seems very happy with the acquisition, despite saying earlier in the week he was looking to bring experience into the sqaud. He told the club's official website: "I am both delighted and relived to have finally got Harry in on loan. He is a player I have tracked for a while and I had tried to bring him in on a permanent basis in the summer but that fell through.

"When Nigel said he would be available on loan then I was delighted to bring him here. He is here until January and then we will assess our options. We may look to extend the deal then until the end of the season.

"Harry is 6'3" and has a physical presence. He is young in terms of his age but does have league experience. He is the sort of player who is committed and won't be afraid to put his head in where it hurts."

Vital Crewe would like to welcome Harry to Crewe and wish him well with his time at the club.
