Five Star Alex Beat Vale

A mix of young and senior players beat their Port Vale counterparts 5-1 in a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon.

The match at Reaseheath Training Ground allowed Gudjon the chance to make checks on various youngsters and one or two trialists, with Faroe Islander Thordur Thomsen of particular interest.

It was a good run out too with The Alex coming off 5-1 winners. First teamers Luke Murphy and Byron Moore both got a goal with youngsters Stephenson, Lewis and Peel on the score sheet.

Next up in the pre-season schedule is a visit to Gresty Road from a Wolves XI this coming Wednesday, kick off at 7:30pm.

I'm assuming Stephenson & Lewis are from the academy and not trialists?
