Premiership Pair In Gudjon's Sight

Man City's Clayton McDonald and Blackburn's Alex Marrow are being lined up with loan moves to Crewe.

McDonald, son of former Walsall striker Rod McDonald, is being ear marked for Gudjon's new look defence. The 20 year old was previously on the books at Crewe as a youngster before joining Man City's youth set up.

Standing at 6ft 6in, McDonald spent two loan seplls away from City last season. In August 2008 he had a month at Macclesfield before a spell at Chesterfield in the new year, unfortunately both spells only produced four appearances at League Two level.

Meanwhile Blackburn's Alex Marrow seems to have caught Gudjon's eye following a scouting mission. The 19 year old is described as a 'box to box midfielder' and joined Blackburn last year after a spell in the non-league.

With Mitchel-King taking up the defensive roll in the Crewe midfield a more attacking midfielder has always been on Gudjon's wish list, but whether a inexperienced 19 year old can do a better job than the likes of Steven Schumacher remains to be seen.
